Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 June 2026IdleRPG is a free, for-fun Discord bot and companion stats site. This policy explains what data the bot stores, why, and how to have it removed. The data controller is the operator who hosts this instance (see Contact below).
What we store
Only what a Realm (a single instance of the IdleRPG game running in a Discord channel; each, a "Realm") needs to run:
Your Discord user ID, username, and server display name (nickname).
The server (guild) and channel IDs where a Realm runs.
Your character state: chosen class name, level, items, map position, alignment, and timestamps.
Gameplay activity used for penalties (messages, reactions, nickname changes, joins/leaves, logouts) and a log of Realm events with timestamps, used to derive the stats shown on this site.
We do not store message content. Penalty counters record that an action happened and its size, not what you said.
Why we store it
To run the Realm you chose to join and to show statistics. The legal basis is your consent, given
when you run /irpg join. You can withdraw it at any time (see below).
Public visibility
If a Realm is set to public, the character names and stats in that Realm are visible to anyone on this site. Private Realms are not shown publicly. Your raw Discord ID is never displayed.
Signing in with Discord
Signing in is optional and only adds discoverability: it lets you see the private Realms you own or
play in alongside the public ones. We use Discord OAuth with the identify scope only,
which gives us your Discord user ID, and your avatar and display name to show in the page header.
We do not request or store your email address or your list of servers. To revoke access, remove
IdleRPG under Discord Settings, Authorized Apps.
Retention and deletion
Data is kept while you have a character. Run /removeme to delete your character and its
data from a Realm. A server admin can also remove players, and archived (ended) Realms may keep
historical event data for past-season stats. To request full erasure, use the contact below.
What we do not do
No advertising, no selling or sharing of data with third parties, and no tracking or analytics cookies. The site uses only essential cookies: the technical cookie needed for its connection and, if you sign in, a session cookie that keeps you logged in. Data lives on the operator's own infrastructure; Discord is the platform you interact through and has its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you can lodge
a complaint with your data protection authority. The quickest deletion route is /removeme;
for anything else, contact us.
Children
You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement to use Discord and this bot.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top reflects the latest version.
